This is a slightly pared-down version of the typical Classical Revival Buechner and Orth courthouses, with brick walls trimmed in sandstone, and a low parapet capping the metal cornices. The entrance pavilion is almost the same as the Foster County Courthouse (FO1) in Carrington, except that simple Doric columns and pilasters rather than Ionic columns support the frieze and pediment. A low metal dome with a crown and ball finial sits on a squat brick and wooden octagonal drum that has three windows on each side. Inside, the rotunda is simplified in detail compared to other courthouses and the stained glass skylight has a geometric pattern. Pink terrazzo and pink marble floors enhance the main entrance area and first floor.
