Dedicated to “the reciprocal solidarity of men through mutual aid and the keeping of the social good,” Degli Società Duca D'Abruzzi was organized on September 26, 1909, in response to the many Italian families who settled here. In 1914, the society built this one-story, rectangular, gable-roofed, red brick building. In a dim reflection of its Italian origins, it proudly displays a yellow brick false front topped by a curved gable centered above the round-arched entrance and vestibule. The building provides a center for the continuation of Italian traditions, including a large dance hall and a wine-making and sausage-seasoning room. In the yard next to the hall is a grass boccie court.
