Lewis Ginter Community Building

c. 1895. 3421 Hawthorne Ave. (southeast corner of Hawthorne and Walton aves.)

This stucco and half-timbered building originally served as a school for the community. Today it is a neighborhood and recreation center and a private girls' school. The gymnasium wing was a gift in the 1920s of Grace E. Arents, a niece and heir of Lewis Ginter.
