1841, Thomas U. Walter. 1982, renovation, SWA Partnership. 302 N. 11th St. (northwest corner of Broad and 12th sts.)

Walter, a student of William Strickland and a rival of Robert Mills, designed a careful, somber Greek temple for this prominent corner. The distyle in antis porch provided inspiration for other Baptist churches in Richmond for years. The steeple was removed early in the twentieth century. The congregation moved to Monument Avenue in 1938, and MCV has owned this building since then.
