A large, Gothic-style window with wood tracery dominates the green, shingled facade of this Congregational church. The imposing corner bell tower balances the building's asymmetrical mass and amplifies its verticality. This well-proportioned rural church easily holds its own with such Academic Gothic Revival contemporaries as Kaumakapili Church (OA7), St. Peter's Episcopal Church (OA43), and Sacred Heart Catholic Church (OA117), all in Honolulu. The bell tower's Gothic-arched doorways provide access to the interior and its forty-foot-high, scissors-truss ceiling. Opalescent glass windows impart a soft glow over the interior. Hurricane Iniki blew this building off its foundation, leading to a 1993 rehabilitation, which included replacement of several of the windowpanes.
