At the western edge of Keota, turn off of Iowa 77 onto route W15; travel 1 mile north on W15, then west .5 miles on the gravel road. There one will discover a large Colonial Revival dwelling of 1917–1918, the S. Omar Singmaster house, center of the extensive Singmaster Farm. The two-story house mixes late Queen Anne and Craftsman details with its basic Colonial image. The symmetry of the entrance front is broken by the projection of a second-floor bay to one side; the low-gabled roof dormers have a Colonial flavor, but the band of two windows within each dormer is Craftsman in spirit.
