This one-story five-bay hipped-roof brick building is typical of the era's Colonial Revival federal post offices. It retains a handsome recessed entrance that includes fluted, Doric columns flanking the door and a metal sculpture of an eagle perched in the break of the segmental-arched tympanum. The interior retains the original terrazzo floors, woodwork, and many of the fixtures. Edwin S. Lewis painted the Works Progress Administration (WPA) mural of a rural scene, Clarke County Products, on the interior north wall.
