To the right of the courthouse, just beyond the Confederate memorial (1901), the three-bay one-story former Clerk's Office is a diminutive architectural treasure. The original portion of this gable-roofed brick structure had a one-room interior but another room has been added to the rear of the building. The portico's elaborate Doric entablature, which continues around the building, is supported by unusual paired, octagonal columns.
