This two-story, three-bay brick structure is a late example of a town house in the Italianate style, though some Georgian Revival elements are also apparent. The sandstone quoins and incised ornament display the skill of the building's contractor-occupant. Similar cast iron porches can be found throughout the St. John's Church area, as well as in Jackson Ward, the Fan, and on Grace Street.
