The earliest surviving building along West Franklin Street, this was built originally as a suburban Italianate villa. The house underwent a thorough Georgian Revival renovation in the early part of the century to make it harmonize with its stylish neighbors. The brick facade has a Federal Revival portico with paired Ionic columns.
