1889, George Boyd, builder. 1918 and later alterations, Charles T. Russell. 110½ E. Leigh St. Open to the public

African American builder George Boyd constructed this originally Italianate building as part of the Quality Row section of East Leigh Street, a group of fine town houses occupied and in many cases owned by African American professionals. Under the ownership of Maggie Walker, Grand Secretary of the Independent Order of St. Luke, this house was substantially modified with Colonial Revival details, a library, and a porch.
