The asymmetrical front elevation of this twostory brick Italianate town house balances the main entrance to the right, behind an ornate wooden portico, with a two-story polygonal window bay to the left. Elegant brackets punctuate the cornice. The side elevation facing London Street has a particularly handsome cast and wrought iron porch on the ground level. The second porch level, constructed of wood, is a later addition. Built for Joseph Bourke, a prominent Portsmouth resident, it has been converted to a bed-and-breakfast inn.
