This corporate headquarters adjacent to Boar's Head overlooks a pond. The siting is reminiscent of Eero Saarinen's John Deere Headquarters, East Moline, Illinois (1956). But in Virginia in the 1980s the style chosen was good-taste postmodern: a giant portico and lots of glass. The tripartite massing recalls Jefferson, whereas the copper roof relates to the colors of the landscape and to Virginia vernacular traditions. The well-detailed interior can be visited through the lunchroom.
