Rugby Road Houses Aldermann House

Farther down Rugby Road are several houses of interest: the Dulaney House (1929, Stanislaw Makielski), 931 Rugby Road, is a large bear of a Colonial Revival design with an enormous entrance portico. Next door, at 933, is the Aldermann House (1931–1932, Marshall Swain Wells), which is more refined. At the bend of Rugby Road is Belvoir, the Twyman House (1928, Stanhope Johnson), 1007 Rugby Road, by a Lynchburg architect, which is an expanded version of Gunston Hall with wings. Across the street is the Randolph House (1910, Eugene Bradbury), 936 Rugby Road, which takes its clue from the plaster houses of English architect C. F. A. Voysey.
