Brown covered the earlier Greek Revival structure with Richardsonian forms carried out in brick but with none of Richardson's force and drama. The record is unclear as to whether Brown, who went on to a significant career as a colonial revivalist and preservationist, actually worked for the “great mogul.” Stamped sheet metal is used for the entrance capitals and the colonnettes above. The building is now the home of an environmental and landscape design firm.
