Both this and the Daniel Winsor House (next entry) show the familiar five-bay, two-and- one-half-story format. The narrow, six-over-six boxed windows of the Foster House, with their fairly crude splayed lintels, as well as differences of interval between the window openings left and right of the door (and on the left side of the elevation even a lack of alignment between firstand second-story windows) all seem at variance with the expansive and sophisticated door. This displays a modillioned pediment with entablature raised on fluted pilasters. It is probably later. It takes over the elevation, and overwhelms the flaws around it.
