This typical brick Neo-Colonial village school built by the New Deal Public Works Administration has a variant in nearby Harmony (see GL21). Both display a nice balance between sense of craft and straightforward function, as well as an appealingly optimistic pride in the American past and confidence about the future which characterize PWA work. In fact, these schools initiated modern school building in Glocester.
