c. 1849. 50 North Rd. (west of intersection with Boswell Rd.)

Angled to the road, the Sweet farmhouse is a typical one-and-one-half-story, central-chimney house of the Federal period which retains a later barn and outbuildings. (A “1790” sign on the house probably dates it too early.) The A. Bennett farmhouse is a typical one-and-one-half-story, five-bay, central-chimney Greek Revival house with an unusual flush ell which seems to be original. The framing of the front elevation by a heavy entablature cornice (interrupted by a mini-transom over the principal door) and paneled corner boards is vigorously handsome. The main section of the house exemplifies the common Foster five-room plan with a front kitchen to the right of the entrance.
