This twin-gabled orange-red brick double house was divided into two parts. The southern section consisted of the town library downstairs and a judge's office upstairs, while the northern was a residence for the judge's son. The core of the house is a hipped-roof section recessed between two gabled portions. A bracketed cornice and wooden porches with Eastlake decoration complete the ornamentation. After the historical society acquired the property in 1976, it made two additions to the two-and-one-half-story building.
