Opened at almost the same time as the Lamar Life Building (JM20), the three-story First National Bank had the same contractor, Sumner Sollitt Company of Chicago. Full-height Roman Ionic columns of Indiana limestone surround the two primary sides, supporting a full entablature with roundels and a heavy modillioned cornice lined with antefixae. Green terra-cotta covers the walls, which are recessed between the columns to simulate a deep colonnaded porch. A 2010 interior rehabilitation converted the building into an architectural office for the Eley Guild Hardy Architects firm.
