Frederick Braun and Ignatius Beek Mercantile Building

1868. East side of Main Street, between Marion and Union streets, (corner of Whittier Road and Boy Scout Road)

At the edge of Waubeek's own limestone quarry is situated this mercantile building. It is a two-and-a-half-story structure with a gable roof, constructed of finely cut and laid limestone blocks. Its roof is steeply pitched and its windows are ped; these and other details place it in the mid-century Italianate style.
