This stage stop, also known as Antelope Park, was named for a salt lick that attracted deer, antelope, and other creatures. The Texas Club (Freeman Ranch) (1866) is a two-story log lodge with porches on the south and west sides and a rock fence in front. The oldest building in the county, it is now surrounded by summer homes in a compound known as the Texas Club or Antelope Park Club. Several other summer resorts are scattered around this wild and remote mountain valley.
