One of the largest of several Queen Anne brick houses in town, this former residence has a three-bay facade flanked on one side by a rounded tower with a rather puny circumference, and on the other by a projecting, angled bay. In between, a slightly projecting bay terminates in an elaborate wall dormer with a tripartite window lighting the attic. A broad wooden cornice with decorative panels encircles the house, establishing a firm horizontal line below the hipped roof. As is often the case with houses of its vintage, the use of Queen Anne motifs seems almost desultory, soon to be abandoned in favor of the American Foursquare. The expansive porch with brick piers and arches is a later addition.
