This one-and-a-half-story frame cottage, raised on a brick foundation, bears the hallmarks of a traditional Virginia house type with a one-story pedimented porch, brick end chimneys, and narrow, symmetrically arranged dormer windows. Here the house type has been updated to the mid-nineteenth century with gingerbread trim. Scalloped bargeboards decorate the dormers and the entrance porch, and smaller-scaled moldings drip from the angled, projecting window hoods of the first floor.
