This foursquare, blocky Georgian Revival public school building was built with donations from and named in honor of Oregon Hill's great architectural patron, Grace Arents. Carneal and Johnston designed a number of school buildings in Richmond. In most cases the site was more suburban, and here the architects must have felt constrained. The stonebased brick structure has elaborate detailing around the entrance and in the window panels.
