In the building boom of the final decades of the nineteenth century, semidetached and detached Italianate frame town houses such as these—three bays wide and two stories in height, with full-width porches and relatively uniform setback—became the dominant form of building in the neighborhood. Most of the houses follow this pattern or some slight variation of it.
