This former U.S. Post Office, an elegant classical structure, typical of the post office designs produced under Taylor’s tenure as Supervising Architect, is faced with cream terra-cotta. Six engaged Tuscan columns form a recessed central portico, bracketed by solid end bays. A balustrade runs above the entablature. In the center of the portico, the entrance door has a prominent projecting pediment on brackets, with a large spread-winged eagle landing at the apex.
