After purchasing a group of small operations in what was then known as Barber's Mills in 1867, Daniel Rodman built a mill for the manufacture of coarse woolen goods which came to be known as Glen Rock. Although it is now much altered as a pottery shop, enough remains to indicate something of the typical small mid-nineteenth-century masonry mill settled into a glen with its millpond very much elevated above a huge rock.
