Behind the store block, a mildly Italianate, quite plain superintendent's house proclaims its ascendancy over the lesser workers' houses along School Street by its greater size and relative isolation. Paired brackets under the eaves and paired windows with peaked labels (except for a round-arched couplet window in the gable) are the sole concessions of this clapboarded box to historic style, although a replaced front porch and portal may once have further embellished it.
