A wide, two-story portico supported by four stout Ionic columns makes it plain that this Colonial Revival “mansion” housed one of the community's leading figures. Within the portico is a narrow second-floor balcony, and on each side are matching pergolalike porches, one of which contains the porte-cochère. The roof forms dormers that depart from the Colonial into the then-current Craftsman mode.
