This is a beautiful and ideally situated Italianate farmhouse. A gabled entrance pavilion projects from the main mass of the two-story building; on the first floor, within the canopied porch, is an unusual design for a door, side lights, and transom-lunette. The door has a semi-circular top—a form repeated in the transom-lunette—and the sides of the sash are taken down and joined to the edge of the side lights. Another fascinating detail is found on the left side of the house, a small open porch with segmental arches. Within the porch on the wall of the house is a pair of twinsashed double-hung windows. The sense of this composition is that it is not a porch as such, but rather the symbol of a porch.
