On a prominent hillside visible from downtown, this Richardsonian Romanesque edifice stands in rough-faced gray sandstone. The wide entry arch is in the base of a corner bell tower, with an open belfry under a steep polygonal cap. The tower's narrow, arched openings are divided by stone pilasters, grouped at corners. The design may be inspired by H. H. Richardson's Trinity Church in Boston, with arched, tripartite window bays centered in each street elevation. Red sandstone bands visually hold the large expanses together. Inside, the renovated pipe organ (1875) is said to be the oldest in continual use in Colorado.
