Duncan McGregor Little was a Nova Scotian who had joined several gold rushes. When he settled at Cooper Landing, he trapped and prospected and occasionally worked as a camp cook. The house, now in a deteriorated state, is a log building with saddle-notched corners. One story and one room, it was clearly built by and for one man.
