The Alaska Road Commission ran a ferry across the Tanana River here, constructing a log cabin for the ferryman in 1929. The ferryman's cabin still stands at the water's edge, with a gable roof extended in front. Another log building on the site was constructed as a storage shed for the ARC in 1914.
