Surprisingly elaborate for its time and place, this mansion, of hard-pressed red brick, was built in two stages, combining Italianate and Queen Anne features. The earlier portion, the main block to the left, is fairly tame. The later section to the right is dominated by a rounded, three-story tower topped by a steep, conical witch's-hat roof that has a decided and delightful convex kick at its eaves.
