This is one of the few county cottages that can be credited to a specific architect or firm. According to a notice published in the March 6, 1924, issue of Manufacturers Record, Edward J. Wood and Son of Clarksburg designed it. The clapboarded bungalow is similar to the slightly earlier Lewis Cottage, with its low, shed-roofed dormer centering a roof that extends to cover a front porch.
