Easily Malden's most imposing early house, this two-story brick structure, painted white, recalls Federal precedents. Windows show proper diminution between first and second floors, and an arched fanlight caps the doorway centering the five-bay facade. Dr. Putney, the builder, married a daughter of one of the prominent salt manufacturers.
