This Federal house built for Waddy Cobbs, who constructed Elk Hill (BD29) about ten years later, served from c. 1828 to 1904 as a rectory for St. Stephens Church. A T-shaped structure with beaded siding, it was probably a three-part house initially with a two-story central block and one-story flanking wings that were later raised to form a rectangular facade. The present porch was added even later, probably in the 1930s when the dentil cornice may also have been added.
