1845; later additions and renovations. 110 W. Franklin St.

This temple-form Greek Revival house, with four heroic Ionic columns carrying a pedimented portico, was built for William Taylor, a Richmond banker. Across the street stood an almost identical house that was destroyed to make way for the Hotel Jefferson. Originally this house had single-story wings flanking the central block, but c. 1870 they were enlarged to two stories.
