Rustic local stonework used on walls and tall, tapered columns are combined with an ebullient naturalistic landscaped park and sunken gardens to connect the Visitor Center with walkways along both banks of the North Concho River and the Museum of Fine Arts (SS21). Seemingly disparate building occupants (the Visitor Center, the Chamber of Commerce, and the San Angelo Health Foundation) are unified in a sweeping design consisting of two long wings bound at the center with a circular plaza and covered with a wave-shaped roof that conveys a distinctive identity.
