This two-story brown brick cube is rotated forty-five degrees to its Hickory Street–N. 4th Street corner site. The thick-appearing walls and narrow windows seem to protect the bank for which the building was constructed. Three tall, segmental-arched openings mark the entrance at the building’s corner facing the parking lot. Though solid and formidable, the building is not oppressive, as is the architects’ design for the county courthouse (see SB12).
