Mark Lemmon of Dallas, one of Texas’s most prolific mid-twentieth-century architects of traditionally styled churches, designed this brick church with Spanish Renaissance Revival decorative elements, including a bell tower capped by a tiled, segmented dome, and a red barrel-tile roof with shallow eaves. The long nave of the church hides a contrasting interior arrangement: the worship space occupies only the front half of the space, while the rest is devoted to the church’s large choir. Additions to the complex by Midland architects Charles H. Neuhart and Ernest W. Babb Jr. occupy roughly twenty times the area of the original church.
