This Italianate City Hall has continuously served the town since its completion. The City Council awarded the construction contract to W. N. Allen, who constructed the two-story building with honey-colored limestone from the local Floyd Quarry. Its honed-finish walls are detailed with a modest stringcourse at the second story and pilasters on the facade and are capped by a pressed-metal cornice and standing-seam metal, hipped roof. Rising above the front central bay is a square tower with a convex mansard roof and louvered lantern.
