Dodson’s courthouse, similar to his Hill County Courthouse (GH18), was stripped of its tower, pediments, and columns in a 1929 remodeling that added Alamo-scroll pediments over the four entrance bays. These and all other moldings, along with individual windows, were finally removed in 1965 in an outdated scheme that appears as a 1930s-era concept of smooth walls and vertical window slots. Of Dodson’s courthouse, only the boldly advancing and receding bays remain.
