Located on one of the two main commercial thoroughfares that extended west to the MKT depot, the Texan was an Art Deco theater. It received a thorough modernization following World War II, with a new vertical neon sign, angled marquee, and a facade of gleaming porcelain enamel panels outlined with neon scroll work. The building’s color scheme is in variations of red, pink, brown, and beige, with apple green for the scroll work. The Texan was renovated in 2014 and is now being used as an entertainment and dining venue.
