This corner bank is one of the more original representatives of the building type in Texas. Instead of the classical model frequently used in the early twentieth century, this one suggests Prairie Style inspiration. The first story is clad in white terra-cotta, with segmental-arched windows and an ornate shield over the chamfered corner entrance. The second floor of mottled brown brick is divided into bays by shallow brick pilasters, with segmental-arched triple windows. The crowning jewel is the deep cornice, extending almost six feet from the building on large scrolled brackets with Sullivanesque ornament. The frieze is interrupted by circular openings above the keystones of the window arches, and the soffits are modulated with thin modillions and rosettes.
