Chartered in 1844, the lodge is one of the oldest in Texas. The two-story classical building in buff brick has three central bays with segmental-arched windows on the first story and round-arched windows on the second. End bays have rectangular windows. The first floor has rusticated brick coursing expressed as a basement supporting an order of Ionic pilasters on the second story. A cornice of corbeled brick is topped by an attic level with pilasters aligned with those below.
