The museum houses the collection of Spanish art of Dallas oilman and philanthropist Algur Hurtle Meadows, and it is one of the largest and most comprehensive collections outside of Spain. Whether it can be described as Late Postmodern or Revival Georgian Revival, the building’s character, with its heavy Ionic pilasters and stepped cornice, is a cartoonish response to Lemmon’s refined campus style.
