Ellis County Museum (Masonic Lodge)

Each corner of Waxahachie’s public square is anchored by a building of architectural significance. An eclectic classicism is represented by this multipurpose red brick building constructed by the Waxahachie Masonic Lodge No. 90. The lodge hall occupied the third floor, with offices on the second level, and retail establishments on the ground floor. Windows vary from round-arched to segmental-arched, and Masonic emblems embellish the building’s elaborate pressed-metal cornice. In 1975 the building was purchased by the Ellis County Museum.
