Constructed by Goliad builder Lutenbacher for Frank Jecker, this towered villa-type house has elements in common with contemporary houses by Jules Leffland, especially the flared shingled skirt below the second-floor deck of the wraparound gallery. Historic photographs indicate that the house, now painted white, had a dark-field color with even darker trim colors. Across Commerce Street from the house is the former John J. O'Brien House (c. 1915), a rambling two-story Colonial Revival.
